Advisory on Unmanned Aircraft Registration
Towards a safer and more responsible drone flying culture in Singapore, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) requires all Unmanned Aircrafts (UA) above the weight of 250 grams to be registered from 2 January 2020.
SAFMC participants need to know the following information:
- From 2 April 2020, it will be an offence to operate an unregistered UA in Singapore.
- Any UA, with a total weight of above 250 grams must be registered before you can fly, even if it is flown indoors. Some examples of UA include radio-controlled aircraft, drones and remote-controlled kites.
- Registrants must be at least 16 years old at point of registration. For those below 16 years old, they must ensure that the UA they are flying is registered by someone eligible (e.g. parent or legal guardian) and have obtained his/her permission to use it.
- The expected application process is estimated to take around 1 week. Please do apply early.
